"Tee? Are you okay?"

There's no answer. Just him laying on the ground, eyes wide and unseeing, the dark blue that she knows and loves slowly seeping into bright red.

"Tee?"

She approaches him, one hand out, seemingly never getting closer than a few feet away no matter how many steps she takes. It's beyond frustrating. He's obviously in pain, and she can't... get... closer...

Suddenly he rears up, snarling, and she sees that his teeth are pointed and sharp, his handsome face twisted with rage and weirdly pale. He manages to grab her by the wrist and pull her closer, in spite of the weirdly distorted distance between them. She shrieks. He laughs.

And then all she can feel is heat...

Hippolyta's eyes snap open.

Gah.

She takes a lot of deep, calming breaths, trying to get her heart to stop pounding in her chest. The image of his face refuses to leave her mind, though, and so she starts rationalizing the dream away. He would never do that. Never. He wasn't going to set her on fire. He loved her. He would protect her, not hurt her. Although it'd be rather difficult for him to do any of that, considering he was across the Atlantic Ocean. Maybe. The pointed teeth and pale face, well, we know who to blame that on, don't we? In fact, he's down the hall even as we speak.

She sits up and props her head in her hands.

This whole thing with Ramon was obviously taking a deeper toll than she'd thought.

She finally starts to consider the fact that she might be in way over her head. And, embarrassingly, the first person she wants to contact for help is Wade.

...No. She's already taken too much from him. Leave him out of this.

Custo was definitely on the list. As was Gale. She'd never spoken with the latter, but putting a call out on the Nexus for him was not a problem. She crossed Leon and Claire off the list, with an indelible pen. No way was she letting Leon anywhere near Ramon ever again, if she had any say. And Claire would side with Leon, obviously. Eiko was a huge help, but might not want to get involved in this.

Because Hips was forced to admit to herself... she was doing something not entirely kosher here. She had indeed abducted him. She was indeed keeping him here against his will. She had every intention of washing his brain clean of the initial brainwashing.

...But the difference here was that she wouldn't hit him, or torture him, or make his plaga writhe and twist in his body. Or tell him how weak and worthless she was. She'd let him go his own way, afterwards, to live his own life.

How far was she willing to play this little chess game? She said she wasn't going to give up on him. But if he overpowered her, she might end up quite, quite dead. And he wasn't worth losing her life over. Only one or two people ever held that distinction, and he definitely wasn't one of 'em.

Well done, Hippolyta, you've managed to get yourself between the rock and the hard place again. Over what? A damn religious zelot zombie.

She gets up, gets dressed, unlocks her door, and goes to make coffee. She needed to check in at the pub today, for real. Letting this much time go by between visits... no good.

She just had to hope that Ramon wouldn't do anything stupid while she was gone.
